Yesterday was my birthday, and well, I guess you could say that it wasn’t the 22nd birthday I thought I would be having. I still made the most of it, however, and I wanted to share with you some COVID-friendly ways that you can still have a fun birthday in isolation!
#1 HOST A ZOOM PARTY
Heck, host multiple Zoom parties with different family members and friend groups so that you still get to celebrate with all your loved ones.
#2 PARTY KITS
Drop off “party kits” at your friend’s doors so that they’re all ready to celebrate with you. This will help you feel more connected, almost as if you’re really together! This can include anything from a slice of cake to a fun game, or a mini bottle of bubbly to pop “together”.
#3 PLAN A THEMED ZOOM CELEBRATION
Have your friends dress up or pick up the ingredients for a fun recipe you’re going to make together. This is just another way to help you feel more connected!
#4 HOST A GAME NIGHT
There are lots of fun games you can play over Zoom, like Pictionary or Jackbox Games, to name a couple!
#5 HOST A BIRTHDAY PARADE
This is one of those things that we only started doing since COVID… But hey, there is nothing quite like seeing your friends and family in person on your birthday, and this is the safest way to do it.
#6 DO SOMETHING OUTDOORS
Granted, this one is not ideal if you’re a winter baby like me but yesterday I went skating with my parents and that was a great way to be able to spend some time together!
#7 TREAT YOURSELF
It’s okay to be bummed out on your birthday this year. It has been such a weird year and I definitely didn’t think back in March that we would still be in isolation, celebrating quarantine birthdays in December, but here we are!
#8 DON’T FORGET THE CAKE
A birthday is not complete without one, so even if you have no one to share it with, still get that cake girl! You know I will be!
