Monday was the first day of fall, which clearly calls for another blog in my series of date ideas!
Fall is such a cozy season and it makes for so many great dates, so here are my top eight:
#1 VISIT A FARM TOGETHER
If you can still find one in bloom, I highly recommend you check out a sunflower festival. There is something so magical about flower fields – just beware of bees.
But since it’s in season, why not go apple picking at an apple orchard! This was one of my favourite fall activities growing up in Ontario, and I honestly miss it so much. Plus – most orchards have a cute little barn cafe where you can get comfortable with a cup of coffee or little spiked apple cider.
Or later in October, go visit a pumpkin patch and pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve together closer to Halloween!
#2 TAKE A SCENIC DRIVE TO ADMIRE ALL THE FALL COLOURS
Who doesn’t love a good row of red, orange, and yellow trees? Your date could be as simple as driving around your town to find the neighborhood with the best autumn leaves.
#3 GET TICKETS TO A FOOTBALL GAME
For us, this means college football. If that’s the case for you too, grab your friends and make it a group date!
But if you’re feeling the splurge, or out to impress, get tickets to a CFL or NFL home game, and you’re sure to have a blast.
#4 GO TO A BREWERY AND SAMPLE BEER
(or cider if beer isn’t your thing.)
#5 TAKE A POTTERY CLASS
I’m still trying to convince Paul to do this with me, but I think it would be so much fun!
Activity dates are my favourite kind of dates – they’re interactive, they allow you to learn more about the person that you’re with, and they get you out doing something that you probably don’t normally do.
#6 GO ON A HIKE
The hiking season is almost over and what better way to spend a day with your S/O then enjoying the great outdoors (and the last bit of nice weather)!
#7 GO MINI GOLFING
In Calgary, I just recently went to a place, called Lucky Putt, where you could order food, sit at a bar and have a drink, and go mini-golfing! It was such a cool concept and it made for such a great date.
Mini golfing is a lot of fun, and it’s got that little aspect of competition in there which can make for some cute flirting.
p.s if you live in Vancouver, and you know a cool mini-putt place, leave a comment down below for Paul and I to try!
#8 FIND THE CUTEST COFFEE SHOP IN TOWN FOR A CLASSIC COFFEE DATE
The words cozy, coffee, and fall go hand in hand, so it only makes sense that ‘coffee date’ makes it on the list. But just don’t take her to Starbucks – do your research, and when I say find the cutest coffee shop in town, I mean find the cutest coffee shop.
If you guys think these types of dates are up your alley, scroll down to the bottom right corner and subscribe to make sure that you’re the first to hear when I roll out a new post!
See you in two weeks for a special Thanksgiving-themed Blog!
