A WEEKEND IN LA

If you haven’t been following along on my Instagram, I just spent the past 5 days in Los Angeles with my boyfriend, Paul, and his family!

This was only my second time in LA, and my first time staying right in Santa Monica, so it was nice to experience different parts of the city and try some new things!

But rather than listing off our whole itinerary, I just wanted to share with you guys some of the highlights from the trip and the last of our photos.

DAY ONE

We arrived in LA early Friday morning and checked into The Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica first thing.

Waiting for our rooms to be ready, we left our bags at the hotel and poked around the shops on the third street promenade for a couple of hours.

We ended up at this funky new restaurant called √Člephante, where we grabbed lunch and refuelled for the afternoon.

After our busy morning, we spent the rest of the afternoon/evening relaxing by the pool and basking in the California sun – Something I’m really missing right about now!

DAY TWO

We started Saturday morning by exploring a new part of town off Sunset Blvd to visit some Instagram iconic stairs: The Micheltorena Stairs.

After our mini rainbow-staircase-photoshoot, we went into Beverly Hills for some designated shopping time and some much-anticipated soft serve from KITH Treats.

This place DID NOT disappoint. With over 20 cereal combinations to choose from KITH Treats is heaven for any ice cream or cereal lover!

For the afternoon, Paul and I ventured down from our hotel to stroll Santa Monica Pier.

This place is full of photo ops, rides, and games, but as fun as this place is, Saturday is not the best time to visit if you don’t like crowds!

DAY THREE

Sunday morning was a rainy one so we visited the Getty Villa to escape the soggy weather and experience a little Los Angeles culture. The whole excursion only takes about an hour and a half and the gardens surrounded by the European architecture are BEAUTIFUL! Definitely worth checking out if you have the extra hour!

Around lunchtime, the sky cleared and Paul and I went to spend the afternoon in Venice Beach. We walked the boardwalk, grabbed a late lunch, tried an Afters Ice Cream milky bun (which was SO GOOD) and then we made our way back to our hotel on these fun little electric scooter shares that you can rent all over the streets of LA!

DAY FOUR

Monday was a full day at Disney! We got up early to get to the park right when it opened, we purchased park hopper passes, and we started in California Adventure Park!

My FAV California Adventure ride: The Incredicoaster

My FAV California Adventure snack: Churros

By noon we headed over to the Disneyland Park for the rest of our day. It seems like there are so many more rides to do in this park, so naturally, we spent 8 hours running around like children to do as many as we could!

My FAV Disneyland ride: Space Mountain

My FAV Disneyland snack: Dole Whip

My Disney TIP: Get the Maxpass. It’s an additional $15 to your ticket, but it gives you mobile access to fast passes so that you can reserve them for any ride, in either park, no matter where you are. Plus you get access to all the ride photos, which is kinda fun!

DAY FIVE

And just like that, Tuesday wraps up our long weekend in LA!
